鑄鐵平臺的鑄件要一邊挖一邊進(jìn)行清砂的工作，清砂形式有人工清砂及拋丸清砂。人工清砂費用低，有些局部處理的不是很干凈。而拋丸清砂則相反，費用高，檢驗平板表面清理的非常干凈。
焊接平臺進(jìn)行拋丸清理的理想溫度最好是接近環(huán)境溫度，但每家鑄造廠(chǎng)的冷卻時(shí)間不盡相同，因此鑄鐵平臺鑄件進(jìn)入拋丸室的溫度差別也很大。因此拋丸機在設計時(shí)，應考慮到用戶(hù)生產(chǎn)可能的最高溫度，假設客戶(hù)需要對如此極端高溫的鑄件進(jìn)行清理，設計的拋丸機就必須符合這樣的要求，如此才能減少日后的維修，停機和其他包括操作安全隱患等問(wèn)題。一般鑄造廠(chǎng)用的拋丸機可處理表面溫度高度100°C左右的鑄件。在這樣的溫度下，就不適宜用橡膠履帶輸送式拋丸機，而要選擇用鋼履帶式或錳鋼履帶輸送式拋丸機。在高的溫度，如高達175°C,時(shí)，就必須輔以特殊耐高溫的密封，幕簾和提升機履帶。
鑄鐵平臺鑄件在鑄造出來(lái)以后在地坑中要呆上合適的時(shí)間，時(shí)間的控制要根據平臺的噸位來(lái)定，噸位越大在地坑中呆的時(shí)間就應該越長(cháng)，要不鑄件沒(méi)有放涼就挖出來(lái)輕微的是變形，比較重的損失就是鑄件發(fā)生斷裂。

cooling time of each foundry is different, so the temperature difference of
cast iron platform casting entering shot blasting chamber is also great.
Therefore, the design of shot blasting machine should take into account the
highest possible temperature of production, assuming that customers need to
clean up such extremely high temperature castings, the designed shot blasting
machine must meet such requirements, so as to reduce future maintenance,
shutdown and other problems including operational safety risks. The shot
blasting machine used in foundries can handle castings with surface temperature
of about 100 C. At this temperature, it is not suitable to use rubber
caterpillar conveyor shot blasting machine, but to choose steel caterpillar or
manganese steel caterpillar conveyor shot blasting machine. At high
temperatures, such as up to 175 degrees C, special heat-resistant seals,
curtains and elevator crawlers must be supplemented.
